It's been 6 months since i bought my iMac and I'm still feeling like an idiot everytime i use it. I'm still not familiar with it for 2 reasons:- I don't use it that much.
- It lags a lot!
Hence, a colleague of mine suggested that it might be caused by the applications that Digits have installed for me, and that i shouldn't have allowed them to do anything to it. Therefore, it should be resetted from the start and it should be all fast and glamorous again (which I'm definitely going to do after the finals). I really don't wanna risk doing it myself; as i said; I'm still not familiar with it
Meanwhile, how can i fix the problem in the picture?
-- Can i please know what are the applications that are already pre-installed with Leopard in case i wanted to rest my Mac myself?

12 Interruptions:
You shouldn't need to format your Mac, removing applications is a simple "Move to Trash" command.
Try the following:
Open up Disk Utility.
Click Macintosh HD (your primary hard drive)
Repair Disk Permissions
When you're done, try creating a new user:
Go to System Preferences
Open up Accounts
(Unlock if you need to)
Create a user called "Test" and leave the password blank.
Logout (Shift-Command-Q)
Login as Test and see if there's a difference in speed.
problems with MAC ??? LA LA I CANT BELIEVE IT :(
Ms Loala:
Hope you get things done properly quite soon... Thats one of the bad things in Apple products; you cant find good support when something goes nasty
Navy Girl:
Yes... Every single OS would go crazy if the user abused it... EVEN OS X
Try 3baid's method, if it didn't work resetting your OS X is a matter of placing the included software DVD (comes with the MAC) and following instructions.
As I recall you will be prompted two options as either remove everything and reset factory version or keep current applications and reinstall OS X software again.
I don't know if there's a way to resolve that Arabic issue since Microsoft Office for Mac doesn't support arabic. However, I heard there are two alternatives but I haven't tried them myself. See if they work for you...
- Mellel
- NeoOffice (Based on - OpenOffice, yet another potential solution)
Good luck!
I'm no good when it comes to technology :/

maybe they can help !
and they say Mac mayikhtirib!
Did you spring for AppleCare? It looks like you MAY have a video problem. Also, are you running the most current version of OSX? Go to the apple and select About this Mac. It will tell you the OS version. It SHOULD read 10.5.6. If it doesn't, go back to apple and run software update. There were a LOT of lag issues that 10.5.6 fixed.
Also, you could be running your memory low. My mom is new to mac and constantly forgets to choose File>Quit to close an app. She will just close the window but the app remains open. If you have 10 - 20+ apps running, your mac is going to move about as fast a sludge. Especially if you bought the mac with minimum ram.
There is a program you can download, but it costs money after the trial, that will show you your memory usage in the menu bar at the top of the screen. It will also clear the memory for you when you are running low on it. I'm sure there is a free app that will do this, but I don't know what its called if there is one. The paid one that I use is called iFreeMem. You can download the 30 day trial at http://www.activata.co.uk/downloads/.
Feel free to contact me if you need any more help and I HOPE that I was able to help you out.
Good Luck!!
