Choosing a sub field isn't that hard however, looking for post graduate programs in Literature is quite frustrating and not to mention, not all universities include this field to its MA programs.
The second thing that might affect my selection is the type of learning. Now, for some reason, i have to work right after my graduation [possibly also to pay for my tuition fees]. Therefore, distance learning will be a priority. I can't go abroad to study AND work at the same time! Sadly, scholarships are out of the question since KU and MOHE don't offer a scholarship in Literature other than Comparative Literature which is totally not my type of study. Besides, there might be a chance that i won't be accepted so basically, i won't count on it.
Now after lots of intensive searching, i resolved to two universities:
- University of Manchester: it offers an MA degree in English and American Studies. Luckily, a part-time learning is available but that would basically mean that i should travel each month to the UK to attend classes which can be quite tiresome and not the mention, cost effective of tickets + residence.
- University of Jordan: it offers an MA degree in English Language and Literature & American Studies as well. Unfortunately, they don't deal with distance or even part time learning which is quite frustrating.
I'm still looking for more universities that offer distance learning, but a university in a nearby country is more preferable.
Anybody has an idea?

bil-tawfeeej inshallah, I recommend Maastricht Univ
I think the best university offers distance learning mode is the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), and you'll do your exams in the biritish council at Al Mansoureya area.
I wish you all the best
Dear Loala,
i am facing the same problem, but i actually did my master in education at framingham state college and i was attending classed here in kuwait, but the main problem it is not accreded from kuwait mintirey of education and this makes it harder for me. i am seeking master in liguistics and i dont want to leave kuwait as i work and i pay for myself, i wish if kuwait univ can make the linguistics program so that it makes all the girls life easier here..
thanks for this site.
Karmella
