I don't wanna go into details since most of you are pretty aware of it, either by curiosity or simply the love to create cult disputes (as if we needed any) but i have some comments over the series in general and the interview which was aired today on Alarabeya channel.
~The interview:
1- "why all this controversial fuss over something that is considered a phenomenon?"
Well first of all, phenomenon by definition is (according to this) a temporal or spatiotemporal object of sensory experience as distinguished from a noumenon\ a rare or significant fact or event\ an exceptional, unusual, or abnormal person, thing, or occurrence. In other words, anything that is unusual or newly introduced to society is considered to be a phenomenon. So, logically speaking, you cannot consider a religious belief simply to be a phenomenon. Do we see praying a phenomenon? boys' circumcision? growing beards? marrying 4 wives? face veils?
If you want to talk about "phenomenon" then there are many countless ones out there that better deserve to shed the light on. For example child abuse, domestic battery, girls' circumcision, bisexuals, honor crimes, satan worshipping, adultery, whorehouses, political corruption, wasta, luxury debts and the list goes on and on so don't preach to me about phenomenon because i damn well know what is one.
2- "Many series talked about Alqaida and Alwahabiya movement, why we haven't witnessed such reaction then?"
Comparing those two to a religious belief which is obviously 7alal is complete absurdity! How can you put a comparison between an inhuman, murderous, obscene acts which take the lives of thousands of innocent people to a religious belief which is legitimate?
3- "90% of the staff are from Alshe'aa cult"
Who? the two sluts Badreya ------- and Lamyaa ------ who have regular visitation charts at the vice police department? I'm not accusing anyone, apparently you've missed the photos in the newspaper two years ago. Besides, we all know they're not.
4-" Why do we bury our heads to the ground for something that is happening in the society?"
What is better? being conservative and discrete or causing a sectarian conflict which will traumatize the economy and mostly the union between the people?
You will say if it's legitimate then why be ashamed of it? well it has nothing to do with being ashamed rather than the desire to maintain peace and unity between the two cults since alot of people disapprove of it. What is happening now is plain enough and could've been avoided if it weren't for those who want to sparkle the fire of sectarianism!
~The series:
The intentions are pretty obvious. Naming the staff Kawthar, Zahra and Roqaya is a clear proof that the producer wanted to start the battle of discrimination. What now all She'aa are named kawthar, zahra and roqaya? they don't have any other names?!
Secondly, portraying 7saineya as a shelter for whores and charm making rather than a sacred place for prayers, calls and religious lessons is outrageous!
Bottom Line:
The producer knew well what he was getting himself into.
Ok, you want to talk about this aspect of the belief, fine, there are million ways to do so to avoid insulting a whole cult.
First of all, there's no difference whatsoever between the girl in the series and prostitution. Both engage in sexual relationships for money. And this point in particular is completely rejected in the She'aa belief for this kind of marriage has its rules and regulations otherwise it wouldn't be so different from prostitution. The woman (and i emphasize on woman) has to be either divorced or widow; in other words, not virgin. The man on the other hand must have this urged reason to engage himself in this kind of marriages. He can either be abroad for a long time or his wife is, his wife is sick or sexually not interested, or he's divorced or a widower. And because Islam knew well the needs for both men and women and took it into consideration and without falling for adultery, it approved this marriage. Other than those reasons is complete b*llsh** and not to mention, rejected.
So basically, her offering herself couple of hours per day for a certain amount of money to different men has nothing to do with zawaj al mut3a, it's a twisted method to blemish the She'ee belief.
Oh you know what? there are girls who do offer themselves in Kuwait for money, why didn't he mention that? why zawaj al mut3a in particular?
See what I'm talking about?

16 Interruptions:
I am a bit confused here (because maybe I haven't heard of the show) but I get the notion that you are talking about zawaj el mut3a and prostitution.
Both men and women have sexual urges and men have it more than women (by default). For a woman to offer her services to a man for a sum of money, it is obvious that this is prostitution regardless of the intentions of the people engaged in the act.
As for zawaj al mut3a, it is a work-around for prostitution or extra-marital sex. Zawaj el mut3a is 7aram otherwise everyone would be doing it.
That's our society and that's what goes on in it. Zawaj ALmout'aa is an act so many Kuwaitis are practicing so they made a show about it, big deal?!
"She may be a prostitute, but she's a religious prostitute nonetheless!"
I hate politics and such :/
I dont get it now are you with or against?
I watched it ams oo ma fihamt shay min hwash'hum!
We have to see the show awal ;P
Kj,
It is talking about zawaj al mut3a except in an awful way.
I won't debate whether it's 7alal or 7aram bcoz obviously it's not my job to do so, but i'm talking about how the show is promoting it.
Noufa,
It is a big deal if the intention is to blemish ones faith which is what is happening now.
Welcome aboard ;)
3baid,
I agree.
Sadly, this is what is happeing now, mixing politics + religion with drama :\
Blue dress,
I'm not against the idea of talking about such subject, i'm against the way that it's being delievered however.
Welcome aboard ;)
Fayoor,
You can already tell by the script if you haven't read it.
Very Nice post !!! , found ur blog by following ur comment on another blog ..
u know what am she3i guy and i wouldn't stop any one to talk about any of my believes IF it was represented in the right way to the right audience
how ever in this SICK series where the mom knows about her corrupted daughter AND approve her acts AND in the same time go to hussainia to ask for help from al bait alaihom al salam THE the same mom go to a wizard to make 3amal showing that even religious she3a do 3amal stuff and gives the wrong impression about she3a .
Moreover the series neglect very basic rules of mut3a marriage which is 3eda !!
i guess stupidity every where got limit except in our countries where degrading everything is the rule
One last point .. i wouldnt broacasting such a series if my ppl in kuwait where more educated and know about she3a cause they will know whatever in the series is bullshit but since no body bother to read censorship should come in action

Ammaro.com,
I;m glad i cleared the picture ;)
They've canceled the show thankfuly.
I just heard about this show today, but I didn't know the details. I don't like how they show makes an insult of beliefs/religion, but what I'm furious about is how some people are reacting to it. I just blogged about it
What they wanted, as they say, is to spot the light on this issue from a different prespective. How the f*ck is that? That's not what the story line tells, and as one of the millions who are raged against the show I know for sure what they claim won't be the final outcome of the show. It shouldn't have been produced.
You know what, zawaj elmot3a 7lal is in our books and their books, and even if they disagree about it,I mean come on.. they got one worse than elmot3a, MESYAR..please everybody just read about both marriges, check it out, compare..shofo a7kam elzawaj o ma ba3d elzawaj o 7oqooq the wife after both of the marriges..then talk, ok..please everybody else with the same opinion...and yeah its a BIG DEAL, that will be the straw that broke the camels back for our society..
msloala....really proud of you and everybody else trying to defend and clarify this dilemma...
