Most influential things

I was watching the soap opera One Tree Hill and this quote really caught my attention:

Happiness does not come cheap, hell if it did people would be smiling.
------------------
The following artists had a way to; at least, touch my heart. They're most influential when things turn out to be the exact opposite of what i want them to be:
  • Alter Bridge [In loving memory, Broken wings, Open your eyes]
  • The Fray [How to save a life, Look after you, Over my head]
  • Daughtry [Home, Feels like tonight, It's not over]
  • Staind [Far away, Fade, Home, Everything changes, Right here]
  • James Blunt [High, You're beautiful, Goodbye my lover]

-------------------

The Fray's How to save a life had a deep impact on changing my perspective about human communication. I never really understood the lyrics until i saw the video. Now i know how to really save a life. Watch it too :P

-------------------

Paulo Coelho's book By The River Piedra I Sat Down And Wept. A really influential book about love, life, starting over, performing miracles and finding the true self of yours. It really changed my whole thinking and, if you allow me to say, purified my soul. It is truly recommended if you're after a peace of mind.

I like your choice of the songs
I've read one book for Paulo Coelho "The Alchemist" and its indeed one of my favourite books. I'll make sure that "By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept" is on my reading list

*goes back to watch the 5 seasons of scrubs he downloaded from the net. :D*

Why don't u guys like Paulo?

I like The Zahir a lot, and it depends on what stage in ur life ur in when u read him.

Paulo is just way too spiritual for my taste. I read "The Devil & Miss Prym" and the story was so childish I could have literally self-combust before I finished reading.

Loala:
How To Save A Life is one of the best songs this year :D Thanks for the video. :)

Exactly what I meant, it depends on which stage in life ur in. I'm going through that spiritual phase now.

Oh. More Paulo. LoL.

I am going to start soon to read eleven minutes and then there is a new book for him called The Witch of Portobello.

Here is a description:

Who is Athena? The orphan abandoned by her gypsy mother in Transylvania. The child taken to Beirut by her adoptive parents. The clerk working in a large bank in London. The successful real estate agent in Dubai. The priestess of Portobello Road. Athena is the main character in The Witch of Portobello. Her story is told by the people who knew her, amongst them, her adoptive mother, a journalist researching vampirism, a priest, a teacher of calligraphy, and an actress. They each draw a different facet of her character, describing what they saw and experienced as well as their own impressions, beliefs and anxieties.

Hamza,
I read the alchemist too but i didn't like it that much. The end wasn't anticipated AT ALL so no, i don't think it's my cup of tea.
*rolls her eyes about the dvds*

elijah,
It is kinda true, the way i see it, it's full of optimism, love and passion for life to the point where you start to believe that the world became a better place to live. Paulo is so optimistic imo .. and sometimes we need some drama rather than a happy ending fairy tale :p

But still, he's good. I like him.

Kinan,
That'll be 1KD plz.

Jkinggggg, you're welcome :p

Kj,
i think i saw the releasing event for this book on TV in dubai. I couldn't believe seeing that much of fans piled up just to get an autograph there. WHERE WERE YOU? :p

the quote "Happiness does not come cheap, hell if it did people would be smiling." is retarded. You can be happy if you want to be happy.

Ms Loala said...

I think it meant the ultimate happiness like wealth, happy marriage perfect society standars ... etc
