Stop the persecution

Will there ever be a time where we don't have to go through tests and exams to examine our intelligence? this is ridicules! teachers are abusing their privilege of testing. Somehow they think that high grades are indication of wittiness and cleverness, without realizing that they're the ones responsible for the result printed out on certificates. Teachers either raise the grade (out of kindness) or lower it (out of hatred or self absorbency) and only few, grade you based on your actual performance. And at graduation, you obtain your certificate with not-so-earned GPA.
As a student, and from my experience of 17 years of studying, i discovered that exams are pointless and a waste of time. They're meant for mind and body distortion rather than mind and body development. Just to make things clear, ask me anything I've tested in the past years, will i remember the information I've been taught and conducted? of course not. That is because conducting information was based on memorizing not feeling and understanding it entirely. Seriously, would you want to study for your midterm because you love the material? supposedly you did, but still, you're only gonna study out of fear of failing or not getting an A. And eventually, you end up forgetting all pieces of information you spent days and days working your a$$ to absorb, right after you walk out the class.
My suggestion is, is to have oral exams. Meaning that, students and teachers get together in class to discuss the material, let the students speak out, express their opinions and ideologies about the course, highlight important points and discuss them freely. And then, the teacher would grade you on how much you understood the material not on how much you memorized and wrote.
Just to clear out the picture, yes i'm having a midterm tomorrow about the silliest and ugliest subject which i don't know how to study for. Hope that i make it through guys, i'm in desperate need of good grade =\

See, oral exams are still exams, so you contradicted yourself :P

The only course which was fair and square, and whose tests really depended on understanding, was psychology. I love the course. And I am a self-appointed therapist.
