The secret

The Law of Attraction .....
Many of us have heard of it, but what is it really about?

The Law of Attraction takes the principal "Like Attracts Like" and applies it to conscious desire. That is, a person's thoughts (conscious and unconscious), emotions, and beliefs cause a change in the physical world that attracts positive or negative experiences that correspond to the aforementioned thoughts, with or without the person taking action to attain such experiences.
Thoughts have an energy that attracts like energy. In order to control this energy, proponents state that people must practice four things:
  • Know what one desires and ask the universe for it. (The "universe" is mentioned broadly, stating that it can be anything the individual envisions it to be, from God to an unknown source of energy.)
  • Focus one's thought upon the thing desired with great feeling such as enthusiasm or gratitude.
  • Feel and behave as if the object of one's desire is already acquired.
  • Be open to receiving it.

I've been long in search for this philosophical, or more likely physical thought to understand what the concept really is. And after many researches, i came to understand that it's nothing less than a state of mind. Either positive or negative, this state of mind takes control over your energy which ultimately is responsible for everything that happens to your life and in your life.

Well I've ignored it for a while thinking it was some kind of stupid spiritual move that some loner in the mountains chose to invent until i saw Oprah talking about it, and i was like: if it was in Oprah then it's damn right something!

The definition i brought up earlier pretty much sums up the concept, but my question is, Do you believe in this power?

Oprah really got me thinking when i watched her show the other day. She implicitly said:

Imagine yourself walking in a mall and a sales person comes your way. One was pushy and annoying saying
buy this, buy that, it's good, it's lovely, it's amazing, try it out, you won't regret it, you'll love it .... and the other one was calm and confident saying this product would suit you if you try it out. Which one you'll choose?

I'd definitely buy from the other person! The fact that he wasn't nagging and pushing and getting on my nerves, made me comfortable and enabled me to embrace what he had to offer.

The universe is quite similar. It offers infinite resources of energy, if we just find a way to embrace what it offers to us then we'll end up with more than what we could imagine to have, a way to happiness and comfort.

I was still skeptical about the whole thing until something happened that really changed my whole perspective about it!

A week ago, my mom was exhilarated at the news that she was about to receive a bonus from her work. However, it was canceled the next day because it had to be revised. She wasn't really upset about it because she kind of perceived it to be delayed and played with. So she moved on and totally forgot about it and haven't really give it much thought. But, she came to me today and said that she's going to get it within a week, only this time with a higher amount!

The situation was amazing! Does the universe really repay you for accepting and embracing its short comings!
You have to possess an enormous power and strength to accept those short comings i.e, failures, disappointments, injustice, bad news, depression, grief etc. But sadly, not all people can embrace them.

I, for example, surrender to those short comings and give up so easily thinking that if i just let myself be, i will be rewarded at the end. But the truth is, nothing good comes from it. And who am i kidding? nature will not reward a sad grumpy human being for being un thankful and ungrateful to its offers, even if they didn't suit me.

Changing oneself to adapt the Laws of Attraction is really hard and needs lots of practice. I'm trying my best to have control over my life, so can you?
The following video pretty much sums up all this. Watch it, it's very inspiring :)

Nice post :)
I read this book a while ago.
There is no secret other than focusing on a goal and then doing what it takes to get there.
The most powerful part is:
"Thoughts will be things" ;p

I didn't know it was called "Law of Attraction", I just know: "tafa2alo bil '7air tajidooh". Be positive and you'll live happier.

Big pearls,
Glad you liked it.

Ktdp,
Even with the quoted lines and video? :\
It's pretty clear and simple.
Focus on what you want + don't let failure back you down + act like you already have it = and you will have it!
^Simple as that but hard to practice though.

M,
So you do know it, did you practice it?

Mac,
Welcome back to good ol' blog :P
So you ARE a computer geek after all!
Read my comment to ktdp, it was the best summary i can do to deliver the concept.

Ak-47,
And deep if you get to know it.
Welcome aboard ;)

Seattle dude,
Yes, Welcome aboard ;)

3baid,
You know when i researched the topic i found it pretty similar to Islam, which leads up to the fact that Islam is definitely the number one source for our strength in life.
I just looked at it from a more philosophical approach ;)

Navy,
Specially those at the beauty centers in Co-Ops! They're soo annoying :\
That's why i buy my make up\perfumes from famous outlets like Vavavoom or Debenhams. Though they're expensive but you're shopping with an easy mind.

Yes it is psychological. Even though I do believe in energies and a symbiosis between us and the whole planetarium lifestream, when it comes to these things it is a state of mind.

loved this post, and i am glad that you learned something from it.

I plan to unravel "the secret" and the spark in me. That's why I think of Tantra. Let's see how effective this approach will be.
