Borat

Simply; What a lame movie.
I couldn't help but think of how it won many awards? how people laughed at it to death? how it became controversial? and then i resorted to the reason behind all this. It was a stimulated porn kind of movies. Is this how it became? movies get all the publicity because it addresses x-rated material? if so, then let all the movies be directed in the same way and decay years and years of generations until they indulge themselves in corruption. I don't have to give an example but to refer to KJs blog to witness a living proof of the consequences of this kind of movies.
What happened to movies when they used to portray a valuable message of love, freedom, friendship, victory and triumph? What happened to Gone With The Wind? The sound of Music, West Side Story, Breakfast at Tiffany's, The silence of The Lambs, Ghandhi, Grease?
sadly, some of those who have the power to influence people (a.k.a. directors) are abusing it. They've sunk in the world of materialism and ignored the genuine purpose of making a movie. Sadly, they now believe that in order to attain success and wealth is to provide an inconvenient environment of x-rated material to achieve the ultimate publicity.
Ok, getting back to Borat. I can't really figure out what's the main reason of making it. Exchanging cultural knowledge and persona? then what's up with the whole vulgar scenes? This is just my own opinion, if you think you like this type of movies then i think it will meet your expectations but to me, it will remain a waste of time.
There are still however, some really great movies that's been made over the few recent years. Take Brave Heart, The Godfather, Forrest Gump, Troy and so on for example. They've really achieved success without them conveying vulgar scenes. I'm not saying that the rest are trash, but i wanted a genuine movie that touches the heart with its noble propose.

its a funny movie, you must admit..... one of those (dont need to think) movies

That's how it goes. Movies nowadays don't get recognized if there aren't some "extra" scenes way off story line.

I have not seen it and I'm not willing to. I despise that actor (Ali G. / Borat). His movies are so uncalled for.

Give me something like Signs, The Village, The Six Sense, Gladiator.. etc. Movies that make you live up the story. Now those are the movies.

Zed,
It is funny in an un-so-called for way. Take mr Bean for example, he still makes people laugh even when they saw his episodes before ;p now that's genuine comedy.

the criticizer,
Exactly!

That's how the movie business is today, no matter how much you criticize, oppose, or recent, nothing is gonna change. All you can do is watch the movies you think are good, and neglect the ones you don't like.

Too many people told me that this movie is a must-see and that it is the hype of this year's movie business. I haven't seen it yet and I don't think I intend to. Stupid movies that do not indulge neither my brain nor my emotions are an utter waste of time. I have seen the trailer and I think it's a bit over done. Anyway, this comment is just random :P

the question is Dose such movies deserve any awards!?!?!? it's the stupidesttttt ever!

bs Loala..there are some nice movies nowadays... what about The Illusionist? It's one of the best 2007 movies! ;)

Ms Loala said...

Exactly missy. The academies sadly nowadays recognize movies for no sufficient reason.
And ofourse there are many many good movies that are made now. As for the Illusionist i hadn't seen it yet, do you have a preview?

What does my blog have anything to do with Borat :S

Anyway, if you really want porn then you have to see Hostel. It is supposed to be a horror movie but the horror was in the last 30 minutes and the rest were, literally, nude scenes and teenager sex.

This is what stimulates the minds of kids these days. Oh, now I know why you referred my blog.

This generation is so obssessed with sex - it is like they can't believe that it is supposedly not taboo anymore and the whole free-speech makes all things even worse

lol KJ!
You had a post of kids doing mature stuff, that's why i related my post to yours since media is the number 1 influence on children.
