Agonised

This just happened:

The story:
Mom and i were on the sixth ring road today. We were driving 100 kph in the middle lane until we saw an accident right ahead of us. Alot of cars were there too and so, we all slowed down since the accident was right in the middle of the road. We reached 20 kph because there was a cop signaling to the cars to slow down to organize the traffic. But all of a sudden, we hear loud breaks snarling behind us and then booom! we've been hit real hard that my head nearly pumped into the rear view window and the water in my hand splashed all over. It turned out that the freaking driver was driving fast and even with hitting his brakes, he inevitably and inconceivably will hit us so he had to crash someone. And unfortunately that some one is us. Nothing major happened thank god. We moved to the safety lane and the policeman did his job.

In the Police station:
We went then to suba7 alsalem police department to settle the matter there. We Got in the detectives office and started explaining the situation. Once we're done it became the boys turn to explain what happened. And what did he say? m^therf^cker started lying! he said that it's my moms fault since she hit the brakes without prior warning and then stopped! and that there were 4 cars space ahead of her which didn't give her any absolute right to stop!
We were like what?? is this guy serious? mom of course got more pissed and said it's all not true but the detective interrupted and said that he should see the car first to determine who's fault is it.
On our way out, the boy's brother (which is "also" a detective in Alandalus police station, what a pleasant coincidence) showed up and took my dad on the side. And imagine what happened in the land where so-called law enforcement exists. He offered my dad 20KD in exchange to drop the issue by claiming that it was my moms fault and each shall fix his car on his own expense. What can you say? they're all freaking related in someway so you can't not expect such things happen! I mean for real!! I could tell that my dad was quite furious at his attitude but couldn't do anything because as we all know, the ministry of interior is in the hands of -------- where most of its employees are acquaintances! He refused the "lawful" bribe saying that he's gonna do it right way or he'll take it to court. The boys brother didn't like what my dad said and moved on to the detective. The detective examined my car and went back to his office. Done some paper work and told us to check with al fa79 al fany to estimate the damage and determine whose fault is it.

Conclusion:
MOI is the shittiest ministry where "outsiders" are being mistreated simply because they don't have wa96a! Now i know they're gonna hold us the mistake but i swear, as god as my witness that this case will be disclosed to the public in the newspapers if they didn't cooperate towards justice.

My luck:
I don't believe in my luck at all. I'm not just saying that but i'm not lucky in any aspect of life. The moment i start thinking of saving some money for the future something real bad happens that requires a huge amount to fix. When ever there's extra money coming my way something happens to take it away. And my god damn insurance ended yesterday now what's that!!!!! why? i bought my car last year and i've never had an accident, and when i do the insurance expires?!
Now i'm terrified of the idea of money coming my way or saving or even thinking of saving money, because every time i do, something ugly happens.
I'm full of agony and depression over what's happening lately and wish i knew why ..
,
Feelings:
I love my car so much. I'm working for it, to pay for it. I love it as my own baby because i'm sweating and crying for it. And to see it like that breaks my heart. Alot of you pay for their cars i know, but to study AND to work to pay for a car is a whole different story. It's like your air supply has been cut off. And it's been cut in a critical period where summer term starts on this Saturday. It's nothing major i know, but still, it's my spoiled baby and it's wounded :(

I think its basically body damage that can be still fixed for less than 50 KD.

Most important is that no one got hurt.

I think it would have been better if the two parties not to go ahead with any case and just take a certain amount for car fixing because at end of the day, you will not get much money anyways, so instead of the hastle, ask for 50 KD and then leave with that.

OH NOOOOOO.. as long as your insurance is expired then you will be held responsible, regardless of who's fault it is :( Your best bet is to do tell them to pay for it without getting insurances involved, cuz once they find out yours is expired then khalas u can't do anything about it. That sucks :(
7amdillah u didn't get hurt though.

He wasn't paying attention and didn't stop fast enough. In almost any country in the world, if you are hit from behind, THAT person is at fault, automatically. Kuwait is . . . . different.

I am so sorry that happened to you. But given the realities, I agree, ask for 50KD not to press charges and go right away and buy insurance!

El7emdella no one got hurt, dont worry about the cost of repair as long as you all are safe.

According to the Law if you dont have car insurance then regradless of who's mistake it was you are mistaken as you are driving without complete papers(i hope you mean your full insurance expired) cuz your third party insurance is valid for 3 years from the time you purchase.

Secondly, around the world its a law if you are hit by any car from the back, the person hitting you is at a fault.

If you want to go by law and you are proven right it might take a few months to get the insurance money and you have to get it repared from yours and then claim it laters. Its usually a 3 - 6 months process. Its usually better if your car has a small damage; to take the money from the second party and get your car repaired than waiting for the court order and all that long process.

Good Luck :)

purgatory,
It's indeed body damage but i don't think it'll be fixed for 50kd only! it needs a new paint job, a new ring, fix the back and front pump and fix the broken window .. but 50kd? =\

There wouldn't be a case in the first place if the second party didn't bribe my dad to drop the case by saying it's my dad fault!

Enigma,
Yea excatly, it sucks ha!
We've told them to fix it without much chaos but they still claim that it's not their fault and everyone shall fix his car on his own expense. And they're still calling saying so!!
Isn't that a solid proof that they're wrong? otherwise they wouldn't be calling every hour!

intlexpatr,
Of course it's different! since wa96a is floading the ministry!

Thank you for passing by and welcome aboard ;)

amu,
Thank you :)
I have a 4 years insurance, the first year is complete insurance and the rest is thid el '3air.
I agree with you, the process is gonna take ages, bastards!

50 KD will be enough, just find a good shop that will fix and repair instead of replacing parts.

Kinano said...

Good thing that neither you nor your mom git hurt :)

Anything else can be fixed, so just be glad you are safe and sound...

I know it's annoying and you are entitled to be feeling how you're feeling now. Just take a deep breath and let it all go :)

El7amdella 3ala salamtek w salamet el mama.. this is the important part.

Like people said, this can be fixed for a low cost. Maybe you can ask one of the guys in Kuwait to tell you of a really good garage or something

purgatory,
Umm i don't know that for sure but i'll look around.

Kinan,
Thanks alot kinan ;)
