He stole from me ..!

To give you a glimpse of the work we do in the bank, we call people promoting credit cards or loans and update their contact address. For me, i've been assigned to the loans campaign in which i call customers to inform them of the latest offer. I thought it would be interesting. Why selling loans would be interesting? because we get a 5KD incentive for every [1000 or 10000 kd, i'm not sure] we sell. So given the fact that interested and needy customers will ask for tremendous amounts, it would be a great benefit on our behalves to earn high incentives.

Probably a week ago or so, i've sold 40000KD to a customer. The process of selling is plain simple. Just take a clear approval of the customer and save the whole information in the system and the process will go directly to the branch. For security measures, you can't use the system until you log in with your username and password. So basically, whatever you do in this system is monitored in terms of viewing the customers overall information, feed backs and sale inputs.

Somehow, i forgot to save the result but it's not that big of deal because there's another system where saving the outcome is essential even if the customer doesn't pick up the phone! So in this case, the bank is fully aware of the whole process that i did. And there were actually papers printed out indicating that i sold that amount so there's no way one will fool me around. Or is it?

Today, my co-worker approached me and asked if i sold a customer a loan worth of 40000KD. I said of course i did, it happened a week ago. He said he came across the customers name again and sold him the 40000KD again. MY 40000KD! I said: it's impossible because i saved the result so there's no way you sell him another loan simply because my name is written down under the application and the system won't take another staffs name. Unfortunately, i went to his PC and was shocked to see that my name wasn't there. As i said before, because i forgot to type it down.

Not a big deal again, alot of these cases happen where a particular staff forgets to save the outcome and the customers name pop up again. The best and courteous thing to do is to summon the employee and tell him to save the outcome again. But what does this so-called co-worker do? he saves the outcome under his name. That's it! With no sweat and tear he saves the outcome right infront of my eyes. Not only that, he gave me that big grin as if he won the grand prix! God i swear i was so pissed but couldn't afford to make a scene.

I swear i'm having this agitated painful feeling inside by people doing such stuff. Selling loans was never easy. I could sell only one in two freaking weeks so this amount was pretty impressive thing for me to achieve, and now he gets the credit! I wanted to tell my boss but why bother? it was his idea. This sucks big time, my effort has been disregarded with a blink of an eye, just like that. Welcome to the real world i guess.

As encouraged by you guys and some of my loyal co-workers and i talked to my boss. Awkwardly, i figured it all wrong. It turned out that he only saved the outcome so that the bank excludes the customer from the list. The loan is still mine because i was the one who established it, wohoo :p
